Before & After School Programs
Notice: Changes to Gilpin After School Programming for 2026-2027
Notice regarding the coming school year: In the past few years, DLS has seen a steady decline of student participation in after school clubs and Dolphin Hall at our Gilpin campus. Because of this, we have made the decision to suspend Gilpin’s Dolphin Hall program and most Gilpin after school clubs indefinitely.
Starting SY 26-27, clubs at Gilpin will be limited to two per trimester. The athletics program will not be affected by these changes.
**Families with Whiteman students who bus to Gilpin: please ensure your child is picked up promptly once they arrive at the Gilpin campus, as the previously available after-school coverage will no longer be available**

Dolphin Study Hall
DLS Dolphin Study Hall Mission
Denver Language School provides a study hall option after school to our K-8 students: Dolphin Study Hall. This DLS program provides a safe and supervised environment for families needing additional time for pick-up. It offers students the opportunity to complete homework, listen to read alouds or engage in independent reading/study in a supportive setting while prioritizing their safety and well-being.
Dolphin Study Hall Provides:
A safe space for students to work on their homework, listen to read alouds or independent reading/study
Opportunities for students to develop interpersonal skills
A service to DLS Families by providing an extended program to allow for later pick-up times
To assign your student to Dolphin Study Hall, families will need to delegate them in PikMyKid by selecting a calendar date, selecting “After School” then selecting “Dolphin Study Hall.” If your student will attend regularly, you can make either of these options as their default pick-up mode in your settings.
The first two weeks of school, Dolphin Study Hall will be drop-in only. The deadline to sign up for September’s monthly rate is the first Monday of September and registration can be completed in MySchoolBucks. For all following months, the deadline to sign up is the first of the month. Families who choose the drop-in option will be invoiced at the beginning of the following month. Parents must delegate their student to Dolphin Study Hall in PikMyKid on the days their student attends.
Pricing
The drop-in rate is $9.50 per child per day. The monthly rate is charged at $6.50/instructional day. For students who qualify for financial assistance, the rate is $5.00 per student per instructional day. To inquire about financial assistance, please contact Financialaid@denverlanguageshool.org. Dolphin Study Hall correlates with our late pick up policy which you can read here.
