My name is Gerardo Collazo Burgos and I am a bilingual English/Spanish music teacher. I’ve been a music teacher for the past 12 years in Puerto Rico and for the past 5 years in Denver, CO. I also have 25 years of experience in the art of playing handbells, and 17 years conducting bell choirs. I hold a Master’s degree on Teaching Fine Arts, with a specialty in music, and I am also licensed by the Colorado Department of Education to teach Music and Spanish in levels K-12. I had the opportunity to participate in several seminars offered by the Musicians of America, and handbell symposiums celebrated in Japan, England, U.S. and South America. As a music teacher, I’ve taught music theory, music appreciation, music history, recorders, handbell choir and rhythm classes, among others. I have also offered workshops on the art of music in Puerto Rico, Venezuela and Guatemala, preparing teachers and students.
