An Overview of our Curricula

The main difference between the other language immersion schools and Denver Language School is the amount of teaching in the target language. We believe that “full immersion” —offering traditional learning activities only in the target language, making the language both the medium of instruction and the object of instruction—is the most successful for high student achievement.

100% Spanish or Mandarin Instruction in Early Grades

Denver Language School teaches the core curriculum in either Mandarin or Spanish from kindergarten through second grade, depending on your choice for your child’s target language. From third grade onward, students receive 45 minutes a day of instruction in English, gradually increasing the percentage of English instruction each year. The maximum amount of English instruction will be 50% in the middle school grades.
